Our Landscaping Services
We provide all major landscape construction services in house, using skilled installers who are trained to work efficiently and with precision. Each job is planned around your layout, drainage, sunlight, and goals. Our services are built to match the demands of Kern County yards, from extreme summer heat to hard, dry soil. We work with homeowners, property managers, and general contractors to deliver results that fit the property and support healthy, long lasting lawns and complete landscape systems.
Drought Tolerant and Dryscape Landscaping
Bakersfield's heat and water costs make a traditional lawn expensive to keep alive.
Our drought tolerant landscaping and dryscape installs replace thirsty grass with decomposed granite, rock, gravel, natural stone, and plants that thrive in the Central Valley. Drought resistant shrubs, succulents, native grasses, and flowering perennials add color and texture without the water bill.
We group plants by water zone, improve the soil, and add rock or mulch ground cover to hold in moisture. The result is a yard that stays clean and finished for years, with less watering, no mowing, and fewer weeds. It's one of the most popular services we offer. Replacing your lawn this way may also qualify you for a Cal Water landscape rebate.
Artificial Grass Installation
Artificial grass provides the green look of a manicured lawn without the need for watering, mowing, or fertilizing.
Our team installs top tier artificial turf that holds up in Bakersfield heat and stands up to heavy use. Whether you need a pet friendly yard, a kid safe play area, or a beautiful lawn you can walk on barefoot, artificial turf is a smart upgrade that pays for itself over time.
We prepare each space with proper grading and drainage to ensure long term performance. Seam lines are hidden, edges are clean, and infill is spread evenly to maintain appearance and function. Turf options come in a range of shades and textures, allowing you to choose a finish that suits your home’s style. For front lawns, backyards, side yards, and even rooftop installs, artificial grass is one of the fastest growing services we offer. Every turf installation is built on a solid foundation to make sure it blends naturally with the rest of the yard.
Yard Remodels
Complete yard remodels in Bakersfield CA. Equity Landscapes handles everything from demo to final install, built for low maintenance and Bakersfield's climate.
Landscape Design and Planning
Every successful project starts with a solid plan.
We work with you to create a vision that reflects your goals, property layout, and lifestyle. This includes choosing the right materials, layout patterns, lighting, plant types, wall placement, and features to match your budget and expectations. Whether you're looking for curb appeal or usable outdoor living space, we help guide the vision from start to finish.
Our process includes a site walk through, rough sketch or digital layout, and a clear estimate that outlines what will be done. We take the guesswork out of the project by mapping out all materials and steps in advance. This helps eliminate change orders, delays, and unexpected costs. Whether you already have ideas or need help from scratch, we can design a space that fits your home and makes the most of your yard. See how we plan and build complete outdoor spaces on our landscape design page.
Custom Hardscapes
Hardscaping brings structure, function, and clean definition to your landscape.
Our hardscaping services include paver patios, walkways, outdoor kitchens, fire pits, concrete pads, and more. We use high quality materials to build surfaces that are safe to walk on, easy to maintain, and built to withstand Bakersfield’s hot summers and cool nights.
From outdoor seating areas to border walls and garden steps, we take the time to install each piece correctly. We consider water drainage, grading, and use patterns to ensure your hardscape elements stay functional and attractive for years. If you need a driveway extension, a backyard lounge area, or a stylish path to the front door, we can build it with a finish that complements your overall vision and pairs well with your space.
Patios & Patio Covers
Custom patios and patio covers in Bakersfield CA. Wood and aluminum covers with lighting, fans, outlets and gutters.
Block & Retaining Walls
Retaining and block walls add structure, privacy, and long term durability to your outdoor space.
We build reinforced concrete block and retaining walls that help control erosion, manage runoff, define property boundaries, and create usable level areas on sloped lots. Whether you need a structural retaining wall or a clean privacy wall between properties, our team specializes in block wall construction with proper footings, reinforcement, and drainage planning to withstand Bakersfield’s soil conditions and extreme heat.
Irrigation and Water Management
We install and service drip irrigation systems, sprinklers, and timers that help your plants and lawn thrive with minimal water waste.
Proper irrigation is critical in Bakersfield where dry months can quickly stress unwatered landscapes. We evaluate slope, soil, and sun exposure to install water systems that are efficient and cost effective.
Our goal is to deliver just the right amount of water to the right areas. This supports shrub & tree health, prevents runoff, and saves money over time. We also offer seasonal checks, timer programming, sprinkler repair, and upgrades for homeowners and property managers. If you're dealing with dry patches, overwatering, or high water bills, we can redesign your system for better results across your flower garden and planting beds.
Landscape Maintenance
Keeping your outdoor space looking its best takes consistent care.
Our landscape maintenance services are designed to preserve the health, cleanliness, and appearance of your lawn and plant beds throughout the year. We offer scheduled maintenance for homeowners and commercial clients in Bakersfield, including mowing, trimming, edging, seasonal cleanups, weed control, and more.
Regular maintenance helps extend the life of your landscape investment and keeps everything functioning as intended. Whether you have artificial turf, drought tolerant plants, or a detailed garden layout that needs a prune every once in a while, we tailor our maintenance approach to fit the unique features of your property.
Landscape Lighting and Finishing Touches
We install lighting that adds beauty, safety, and functionality to your yard.
Our outdoor lighting setups highlight trees, walkways, seating areas, lawns, and walls for nighttime appeal. Pathway lights improve navigation, while accent lighting brings out key features after dark. Proper lighting also boosts security around your home.
We offer energy efficient and solar powered options for homeowners looking to reduce power costs. Fixtures are chosen for durability and style, and wiring is installed carefully to protect against wear or weather. Lighting completes the look of a finished landscape and allows you to enjoy your outdoor space well into the evening.
